Hello, I'm Robert Clarke, founder of enuf.com

I've been a serious lover of nature, and particularly of birds, since my very early years. At age 6, I joined the YOC (Young Ornithologists Club), the junior section of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), then the RSPB itself, and also the local bird club where I grew up, the Leicestershire and Rutland Ornithologists Society. Much later, when I moved to Scotland, I joined the Argyll Bird Club, where I became a committee member and also editor of its quarterly magazine, the Eider. Since moving to France, I have been a member of the SPO (Société Protectrice des Oiseaux), and also more recently a group dedicated to protecting the nests (and more importantly, the chicks) of ground-nesting Montagu's and Hen Harriers from destruction by combine harvestors.

 

Oh yes, and at some time in the past, when I lived in the U.S., I was briefly a member of the Audubon Society! I used to get odd looks from people in Central Park when they saw me with my binoculars scanning its trees for woodpeckers, and its lakes for ducks!

 

Along the way, I was a soldier briefly (and commissioned from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as a Second Lieutenant), an investment banker, and a businessman, in the United Kingdom and the United States, so I think it's fair to say I have great practical experience of how the world works from a financial and business perspective.

 

In fact, it has been as a result of these experiences (good and bad!) that I have developed my Enufism ideas, which are so radically opposed to conventional thinking. But as those who know me well would agree, I've never been afraid of expressing my views and beliefs!
